The Fisherman's Story
Updated: Aug 2, 2021
So this is something extraordinary [at least for me],
It all started when I went for my next adventure. I knew the place where I was going was itself very beautiful but I personally wanted to stay next to the beach, even though it was a little bit far from the town. I booked a really nice place with a beautiful view of the Ocean.
As a photographer my day always used to start with me taking a long walk, besides the ocean and then sitting Under a tree trying to write[is it just me or this things happen a lot in Romantic and fantasy movies]
The beautiful view, with that light breeze of wind touching my body, bringing that beautiful smile on my face[I just wanted the Time to stop].
So, it was the fourth day of my Vacation and as usual I was walking beside the Ocean, when I saw this man on his boat trying to catch fish[ I had seen him before but he was way far in the ocean]. I took my camera out to get a shot of how he was catching the fish.

I sat there for a while waiting for the man to come to the Shore as I was very curious to talk to him. After a while he finally reached the Shore. I quickly went towards him and asked him if he had a little bit of time to talk to me. He told me that he had to store the fish first, and he kindly asked me to join him at his house if I wanted. As his house was exactly opposite to where we were standing I could see it right there, so I said yes.
As we reached his home I saw that he had a wife and three[3] daughters. He introduced me to them and vice-versa. They offered me some home made fish, but being a vegetarian I humbly said no, I did have the tea[chai] though.
I started asking him about his life, work, etc. to which he was very kind to answer. His day would start everyday at 5 in the morning, with cleaning the Shore, bringing drinking water from the well[which was almost a mile away ] and then going into the ocean to catch some fish. Which eventually they will eat and also sell. Selling fish was the only source of income for the whole family[He used to clean the shores for free as his daughters as well as other children would come and play there ]
But, not once he or his family complained about this life they were living .I stayed there for a while and I figured out that they have more happiness on their face[although having nothing], rather than me who had a lot of privileges. I had never seen anything like that, it made me think how we all complain about small small things in life, taking our life for granted.
Does all this expensive stuff really matter for happiness, or is it simple to be happy?

Just think about it….
